



Mezzo-Soprano Korby Myrick’s diverse repertoire and impeccable artistry earns
her praise in both concert and operatic work. Opera News says, “Korby Myrick has
emerged in a series of roles as a spectacular stage personality with a dusky mezzo
and exotic looks.” She has recently added several dramatic mezzo roles to her
repertoire including Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, Amneris in Aida, Princess
Eboli in Don Carlo, Dalila in Samson et Dalila, and Azucena in Il Trovatore, among
others.
Ms. Myrick performs throughout the United States and Europe with such companies
as Théâtre de l’Opera de Nice, Teatro Bellini in Italy, Spoleto Festival USA and Italy,
Washington National Opera, Cambridge Festival in England, Tulsa Opera, Opera
Carolina, Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, Connecticut Opera Theatre, as well as
performing over forty roles with Arizona Opera Company.
Most recent engagements include Abuela in La Vida Breve with Opera Carolina;
Mary in Der Fliegende Holländer, Mrs. McLean in Susannah and Tisbe in La
Cenerentola with The Arizona Opera Company; and Larina in Eugene Onegin in her
Tulsa Opera debut with subsequent performances as Marthe in Faust, Miss Benson
in Lakme and Third Lady in The Magic Flute. Next, she performs Azucena in
Il Trovatore with Opera Naples, Katisha with Indianapolis Opera, The Abbess in
Suor Angelica and La Ciesca with Opera Carolina
A noted concert artist, Ms. Myrick made her Avery Fisher Hall debut as the alto soloist in the Bach B Minor Mass, and frequently appears as a concert soloist with Spoleto Festival, both in the U.S. and Italy. Other orchestral and oratorio organizations include Associazione Fesitival Dei Due Mondi, New Haven Symphony, The Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Musica Sacra, New Haven Chorale and Norwalk Symphony Orchestra. Her extensive and varied concert repertoire includes all of the Bach Passions, Handel’s Messiah, Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius, Berio’s Folksongs, Ravel’s Trois Poèmes de Stéphane Mallarmé, de Falla’s El Amor Brujo, Mozart’s C Minor Mass,’ Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Prokoviev’s Alexander Nevsky, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 (Resurrection) and the world premiere of Emisit Spiritum (Betta) with the Spoleto Festival Orchestra.
